SpringPeople’s 2nd Connect L&D Conclave was held recently on 29th June 2018 at Courtyard by Marriott, ORR Bangalore. Presided over by five eminent panelists, it was earmarked as one of the most significant L&D events conducted in recent times by the 90+ L&D professionals present. The topic ‘Delivery Modes – Classroom, Live, Hybrid. What’s Working’ was deliberated upon in this Conclave.
The five panelists of the event were Nikhil Chadha (Flipkart, Director – Org Development, People Transformation and New Capabilities), Uma Sankar (Infosys, AVP & Head – Learning ), Dr. Roshan Joseph (QuEST Global, VP – L&D), Natasha Jasrotia (Walmart, Talent Management, L&OD, Diversity) and Arun Panayappan (Founder- Techcovery Solutions & SpringPeople AI/ML Lead Trainer).
The panelists discussed the latest L&D concerns and solutions against the backdrop of the topic Delivery Modes – Classroom, Live, Hybrid. What’s Working? The moderator of the discussion, Nikhil Chadha started the discussion by stating that learning accountability is not limited to L&D alone, rather to employees as well. According to him, the basic way to determine the appropriate learning delivery mode is to enable the employees to first answer the question ‘What’s in it for me?’. This was echoed by Natasha Jasrotia who pointed to the essentiality of first defining the benefits of each approach to the learner to help them decide their learning facilitator themselves. Both Roshan Joseph and Uma Sankar iterated the importance of a blend of Online & offline learning modes to facilitate learning.
With dozens of questions from the floor on topics ranging from What should L&d do as a function, Learning Accountability of Employees to Cons of Pure Online Learning, the learning and the knowledge sharing was unparalleled. After the panel discussion, the event saw the active interaction between the five panelists and the attendees present. By large, the event was an opportunity for industry leaders and other professionals from L&D to network, connect and debate with each other.
This Conclave was held under the Connect L&D brand. A SpringPeople initiative, Connect L&D strives to bring together the L&D community on a common platform.
