Citrix XenApp- The Ultimate Storage and Connectivity Solution

Communication technologies are on the peak of demand these days. With the growing complexities in business units and system relocations, employees are finding it difficult to communicate with the company.

The VMware Horizon can meet those requirements through the mobile and desktop applications but there is a chance that the company might end up owing a heavy debt to the banks while affording them. Applications that run in a parallel track with tech giants like Microsoft and Google can save money and time.

History and Importance

In order to bridge this gap, Citrix Systems, an American multinational software company launched a virtual app, called XenApp and desktop solution, called XenDesktop which allows the employees to connect with the company while cutting the IT costs. Citrix Systems deals with the core business of providing application and desktop virtualization, server, software as a service (SaaS), networking and cloud computing technologies. Being a loyal partner of Microsoft, Citrix emerged as a leader in thin client technology in the 1990s. The company saw a growing demand in its services throughout the decade and later acquired Sequoia Software and Expertcity, a remote desktop products provider in 2001 and 2003 respectively. Later, after opening a headquarters in Silicon Valley the company gave a new name to its Presentation server product line, as XenApp. However, the delivery of virtual applications and desktops over wireless networks, like cell phones eased after acquiring Virtual Computer, a maker of intelligent computer virtualization in May 2012 and Framehawk in 2014.

Although Citrix had already announced a partnership with Google in August 2010, to bring the company’s products to Google Chrome OS devices, it stepped towards more acquisitions in order to capture the market. Later in July 14, 2015, Citrix added full support for Windows 10 to its desktop virtualization products. Thus, large corporate companies have started centralizing their data systems using Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp, and eliminated redundant infrastructure and introduced cost savings while also easing data submission for employees at the project location in real time. So, the admins and architects hailing from Windows server management can sit back and relax as a flawless solution to fix communication problems is right here.
