Getting started with Spring Cloud

Abstract

Cloud has gone from being a luxury to a necessity, in today’s modern IT world. As the world moves onto Cloud for their computing needs, there is a growing need to be able to develop robust ‘distributed systems’ which are ‘cloud native’. Spring Cloud is the open source library which provides tools for effectively deploying applications on Cloud, by providing tools to resolve 12 main factors such as Configuration Management, Service Discovery, Circuit Breakers, etc. 

Agenda:

Vinodh will take you through the main concepts of Config Server, Design, Backend and Conventions. He will also talk about HTTP Service Endpoints, Configuration Hierarchy and Configuration Refresh. He will also take us through a lab session where he will demonstrate setting up a config server, and various other aspects such as changing logging levels and reinitializing beans with @RefreshScope.
